NATURAL AND SOCIAL SCIENCE IN THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH: WHAT HAPPENED UNDER OBAMA? WHAT’S HAPPENING UNDER TRUMP?

Please join The AAPSS at The Willard InterContinental Hotel for the 2018 Daniel Patrick Moynihan Lecture on Social Science and Public Policy on May 17, 2018.

WHAT: The 2018 Moynihan Lecture, presented by Professor John Holdren.

WHEN: May 17, 2018, from 4-5:30 p.m.

WHERE: The Willard InterContinental Hotel, 1401 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, D.C. 20004.

Dr. Holdren, the Teresa and John Heinz Professor of Environmental Policy at Harvard Kennedy School, formerly Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and Science Advisor to President Obama, was responsible for advancing the use of both the natural and social sciences to inform federal policymaking. In his talk, Dr. Holdren will reflect on his experience in these roles, including an assessment of the ways in which science-based approaches support national goals, how science can improve government, and the gulf between the Obama and Trump administrations in their use of science to inform policymaking and governance.

We look forward to seeing you at this important event.
