COSSA is pleased to announce that it will be partnering with the March for Science on April 22 (read the press release here). COSSA joins more than 25 scientific societies and professional associations who have officially endorsed the March for Science. We are excited to participate in the event in solidarity with other scientists and science enthusiasts as we showcase the important contributions that science, especially the social and behavioral sciences, make to our country and global community. We hope you will join us in Washington or in a city near you on April 22. Satellite marches are planned in nearly 300 cities around the world.

Mission:
The March for Science champions robustly funded and publicly communicated science as a pillar of human freedom and prosperity. We unite as a diverse, nonpartisan group to call for science that upholds the common good and for political leaders and policy makers to enact evidence based policies in the public interest.

Like science more generally, the March for Science is nonpartisan. It is not intended as a protest or demonstration against any one party or politician’s position. Instead, the event will be a celebration of science, promoting positive messages about the ways scientific research serves humankind.

You can stay apprised of COSSA’s activities surrounding the March by signing up for periodic email updates. The March for Science is just one activity COSSA will be engaging in this year.
